0% APR Introductory Period

A promotion for credit cards (namely balance transfer cards), which allows a cardholder to pay zero interest for a specific period, which can range from six months to 21 months. Some promotions are just for balance transfers, while others also offer zero interest on new purchases. Once the period ends, the cardholder will be charged interest (based on the card's terms and conditions) for any preexisting or new debt balance.
